“Ethereal Gaze” by Roman Chekmarev receives the STUDIOLO COLLECTION AWARD

At Queer Media, we proudly celebrate the recognition of our talented photographer Roman Chekmarev, whose work “Ethereal Gaze” received the STUDIOLO COLLECTION AWARD at the latest edition of Madrid’s prestigious art fair.

The award was presented by Candela Álvarez Soldevilla, a distinguished curator and cultural manager whose work has driven innovative artistic projects with a focus on diversity and contemporary expression. Her work in the art world has been key to surfacing new narratives and supporting creators with disruptive proposals.

“Ethereal Gaze” is a visual exploration of queer identity, where light and composition capture the essence of gender expression and non-normative beauty. With this work, Chekmarev invites us to reflect on the gaze, perception and the way we construct our own image in a constantly evolving world.
