Volunteer
If you have time and talent to share, they have direct impact here: on real LGBTQ+ artists, musicians and creators, in projects you can see and hear.

What volunteering here means
Volunteering at QUEER MEDIA isn’t symbolic or decorative: every role holds up a specific part of the association. You’ll work with the team on real projects — an exhibition opening its doors, a radio station that never stops broadcasting, an open call that changes an artist’s career — and you’ll see the result of your work. In return, we ask for commitment: we’d rather have a few steady hours than many sporadic ones.
Where we need help right now
Social media & communications
Give the projects a voice: plan content, care for the community, and promote open calls and events on Instagram and Facebook.
Radio Queer Uno coordination
Music programming, liaison with artists and labels, and growth for the first queer electronic radio station from Madrid.
Grants & fundraising
Track public and private funding calls, prepare applications, and help projects get the resources they deserve.
Event production
Exhibitions, screenings and community gatherings: set-up, welcoming the public and logistics. The part of the work people see — and the part they don’t.
How to join
- Write to us about what you’d like to do, how much time you can give, and what you’re good at — or want to learn: growing is part of the deal here too.
- We get to know each other in a short conversation to find the fit between what you’re looking for and what we need.
- You start with support: no one is left alone in front of a task; the team guides you from day one.
Frequently asked questions
How much time does it take?
We agree it with you. Some stable roles work well with just a few hours a week, and one-off collaborations suit specific events. What matters is that we can count on you for what’s agreed.
Do I need previous experience?
It helps for some roles (communications, grants), but commitment is what matters most. You’ll learn by working on real projects with the team.
Can I volunteer remotely?
Yes. Much of the communications, radio and fundraising work can be done from anywhere; events need presence in Madrid.
Can volunteering turn into something more?
When paid collaborations or coordination roles come up, we look within the team first. Many people who now coordinate an area started out as volunteers.
