We are delighted to announce that from 4 to 28 February the Queer Art exhibition will be held at the Maruja Mallo Exhibition Hall (Retiro).
Address:
Plaza de Daoíz y Velarde, 2, Madrid.
The exhibition presents a curated selection of queer artists whose work reflects the richness and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. Every piece on display is not only an artistic expression but also a powerful voice exploring identity, love, resistance and personal freedom.
A recurring element in several works is the depiction of the naked body — treated not from vulnerability or sacrifice, but from perspectives full of strength and authenticity. For the artists in this exhibition, the body becomes a powerful means of self-expression, an aesthetic tool that communicates resistance, courage and beauty. In some works the body inspires through its empowered stance, conveying confidence and defiance; in others it reflects the fragility and nuances of human experience — always through an honest, unprejudiced narrative.
Here the naked body is not merely a physical object but a visual language that explores the artists’ inner and outer struggles, their path towards self-understanding and their desire to connect with the world. It is a symbol of breaking down barriers, a vehicle of resistance and a celebration of diversity and freedom. Each image invites viewers to reflect on the body as a carrier of stories, emotions and universal messages, enriching the dialogue between art and life.
The exhibition includes works by emerging and established artists, representing a wide range of styles and perspectives. From photography to painting, each creation reflects the courage of those who find in art a way to express their truth.
