Queer Art, a QUEER MEDIA project, has opened a new international call for LGBTQ+ visual artists. Until 31 October 2026, we are looking for work with a point of view of its own: work that could not exist without the experience, questions and visual language of the person who made it.

We are not filling a gallery. We are building a conversation
This Open Call is not an automatic upload queue. Every eligible application is considered through a curatorial review, looking at the strength of the work, the clarity of the practice and its potential to expand the conversation across the gallery.
We do this because queer art needs more than a brief moment of visibility. It needs context, continuity and spaces where it can meet audiences, collectors and institutions without losing its singular voice. Selected applicants will join the Queer Art online gallery through a moderated artist profile and a curated selection of works.
Who can apply
- LGBTQ+ visual artists based anywhere in the world, at any stage of their career.
- Practices including painting, drawing, photography, digital art, sculpture, installation, mixed media, moving image and performance documentation.
- A coherent body of work that clearly communicates your ideas, approach and visual language.
- Work for which you own or control the rights needed for review and, if selected, publication.
What to prepare
- A focused selection: choose the works that best represent your current practice rather than trying to show everything.
- Clear visual material: high-quality images and, where relevant, accessible links to video or time-based work.
- An artist bio and statement: concise texts explaining who you are, what you make and the questions your practice explores.
- Current links and contact details: check your website or portfolio and use an email address you monitor regularly.
How selection works
Applications must be submitted through the Open Call page. The Queer Art team will review each practice as a whole, then contact selected artists directly with the next steps, any additional material requests and details of gallery onboarding.
The call is open from 1 to 31 October 2026. Applications sent by email or through the general contact form cannot be considered.
We want to discover the work only you can make—and help it find the context, attention and audience it deserves.
